Did Jesus reveal the name of the Anti-Christ?

by on Mar.18, 2010, under Religion

Although not well versed in the Bible, this certainly caught my attention.  Luke 10:18 says “And He said unto them, ‘I beheld Satan as lightning falling from the heavens‘.”  The words were written in Greek, and translated into English.  However, Jesus spoke Aramaic, which is an ancient form of Hebrew.  When we translate the passage back to Hebrew, which is the way that Jesus would have actually spoken, it is very interesting.

“I beheld Satan as lightning falling from the heavens.”  Let us examine the key phrase: lightning falling from the heavens.  I turn to Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary for assistance in the translations.

Word 1299 means  a primitive root; to lighten (lightning):–cast forth.

Word 1300 means lightning; by analogy, a gleam; concretely, a flashing sword:–bright, glitter(-ing sword), lightning.

Words 1299 and 1300 are baraq (baw-rak’)

It gets more interesting

The text says that lightning fell “from the heavens“.  Isaiah 14:12-19 talks about Lucifer or Satan.  Verse 14 saysI will ascend above the heights of the clouds.  I will be like the most High.“  Many times in Isaiah it mentions that Lucifer has fallen from the heights or the heavens.  The word in the text that is used for heights or heavens is Strong’s Hebrew word 1116 bamah(bam-maw’) from an unused root (meaning to be high); an elevation:–height, high place, wave.

But it does not end there.  The sixth letter in the Hebrew alphabet is Waw or Vau.  It is often translated as a “U”, although some scholars use an “O”.  Its primary usage is as a conjunction to join two concepts together.  So in Hebrew, to join together the two concepts of Lightning and From the Heavens the letter Waw would be used.  So the Hebrew phrase Baraq “U” Bamah or alternatively Baraq “O” Bamah would translate to lightning from the Heavens.

In Hebrew, the word Satan is “Satan”.  Spelt the same although pronounced differently.

Luke 10:18 says “And He said unto them, ‘I beheld Satan as lightning falling from the heavens‘.”  If spoken in Hebrew or Aramaic as Jesus did, would be “I beheld “Satan” as “Baraq ‘O’ Bamah

I do not profess to know what this means, but I felt it was worthy of reporting.  Please draw your own conclusions.
